This fee includes the two-day entry fee into the Juneteenth Family Festival
Entry Deadline
Entry fee must be received by Friday May 22, 2009.
The 40 Acres Activity Campus reserves the right to change the rules due to unforeseen circumstances.

Check-in Nominees must report to the sign in table on June 13, 2009 11am Saturday morning at the main stage.
Official Rules
Participants must at least be 16 years of age
All participants must be in good standing in their high school
The entry form must be postmarked by May 22, 2009
Mr. / Ms. Juneteenth Virtues
The Juneteenth Family Festival embraces the following values for its King and Queen:
CHASTITY -Courage and boldness. Embracing of moral wholesomeness through education and betterment.
TEMPERANCE -Constant mindfulness of others and one's surroundings; practicing self-control, abstention, and moderation.
CHARITY - Willingness to give.
DILIGENCE -A zealous and careful nature in one's actions and work. Decisive work ethic.
PATIENCE -Forbearance and endurance through moderation. Resolving conflicts peacefully. The ability to forgive &show mercy.
KINDNESS- Charity, compassion, friendship, and sympathy without prejudice and for its own sake.
HUMILITY -Modest behavior, selflessness, and the giving of respect. Giving credit where credit is due; not unfairly glorifying one's own self.
JUSTICE - Honesty and the giving of righteousness. Being fair or telling the truth. Doing what is right and not what is wrong.
Essay Contest Guidelines
Participants must at least be 16 years of age
All participants must be in good standing in their high school
The entry form must be postmarked by May 22, 2009
Entry fee must be received at the same time of the nomination form to be considered a valid nomination.
Essays should be original compositions, no less than 750 words and no more than 1000 words.
All essays must include this essay cover sheet
For nominees under 18 and under must have his/her guidance counselor’s signature to verify enrollment in school.
Winners will be selected on or before Friday June 1, 2009
All winners must be available for the reading of their essays at the Juneteenth Family Festival or the next highest scoring candidate will be announced as the winner, runner up.
Residency Requirement
Nominees must reside in the state of: Missouri(MO), Kansas(KS), Nebraska(NE), or Iowa(IA)
Proof of residency is required. This will be verified if the nominee is considered one of the top three candidates for the Mr./Ms. Juneteenth crown.
Contest Forfeitures and Elimination
Because the Mr./Ms. Juneteenth Contest is part of the Juneteenth Family Festival, participants must be present to win or the winner will be announced as the next highest scoring nominee
Awards Awards will be given to contest winners

How does the nominee embody the seven Juneteenth virtues? The virtues are valor, generosity, liberality (pursuit of will), diligence, patience, kindness and humility. (You many pick one or more of the virtues and expound on them).
